Compared with the separate driving device, the electric drum has many advantages such as compact structure, high transmission efficiency, low noise, long service life, stable operation, reliable work, good sealing, small space occupation, convenient installation, etc., and it is suitable for various Work under harsh environmental conditions. ■ The basic classification of electric drum
There are currently four basic methods for the classification of electric drums. That is to say, according to the cooling method of the motor, the type of transmission structure of the reducer, the basic working environment characteristics of the electric drum and the method of placing the motor inside and outside the drum to classify the electric drum.
According to the different cooling methods of the motor, the electric drum can be divided into three categories
Air-cooled electric drum
The characteristic of this kind of electric drum is that the motor does not need to be cooled by oil, and it can be divided into forced air cooling and natural air cooling by conduction, radiation and convection of wind.
oil-cooled electric drum
This kind of electric drum is also called an indirect oil-cooled electric drum. There is a certain amount of cooling oil in the electric drum. Because the drum body continuously rotates, the oil scraper on the drum body continuously pours the oil onto the motor and gear, taking away the heat generated by the motor and gear when it is working, and reducing the heat. It is transmitted to the wall of the roller body to accelerate the heat dissipation of the motor and lubricate the gears. The key to oil-cooled electric drums is that no oil is allowed to enter the inside of the motor.
oil-immersed electric drum
Oil-immersed electric drums are also called direct oil-cooled electric drums. This type of electric drum allows oil to enter the motor and directly contact the motor rotor and stator windings. The heat generated during their work is transferred by the continuous rotation of the drum body. To the inner wall of the drum. This structure has better heat dissipation effect, but relatively high requirements on the quality of lubricating oil and the motor.

There are many types of reducers produced at home and abroad, but currently there are no more than three types that can be mass-produced on electric drums.
Motor drum driven by fixed shaft gear
The most commonly used reducer device for electric drums at home and abroad is fixed-axis gear transmission, and more than 95% of gear transmissions are fixed-axis involute cylindrical gear transmission structures. The transmission structure is simple, reliable, easy to manufacture, easy to install and maintain, and has the advantages of high efficiency and low noise. Two-stage deceleration is commonly used, and a few are three-stage deceleration.
Motorized drum driven by line gear
Compared with fixed-axis gear transmission, this type of transmission has the advantages of small size, light weight, large carrying capacity, and stable operation, but it is not convenient to maintain. This type of structure is common in foreign electric drums.
Cycloid pin wheel drive electric drum
This type of structure can be described as "Chinese characteristics". Except Japan, other countries rarely use this type of transmission structure. The electric roller with the transmission structure of the cycloid pin wheel can achieve very small linear speed and high power.
According to the application environment of the electric drum to judge points
There are three common applications for electric drums: ordinary, corrosive and flammable and explosive. If subdivided, there are high temperature, humid tropical and some special occasions, but the number of electric drums used in these occasions is not large, and they are generally only produced as non-standard electric drums.
